The Privacy Policy is taken directly from the Member Handbook, and is reprinted here for your convenience. The Website Privacy Policy is published only on the website as it relates to technical issues which frequently change. This document forms the complete IACC privacy policy.
Privacy Policy
The IACC will generally collect membership registration and renewal data in person. This data is only used to allow efficient administration of the club such as distributing mailings and monitoring membership numbers. This data is entered on a membership list and made available to Executive and Board Members by our Membership Chairperson. While participation in the membership list is voluntary, we will assume that you consent to being included unless you notify us in writing to the contrary. At the time of registration, you will be asked if you consent to being included in the membership list.
Your contact information will be made available to telephone committees to generate attendance at club sponsored events (workshops, outings etc.). No data collected is sold, rented or given to third parties.
Website Privacy
During your visit to this website, data about your visit is gathered for us by our web host and, concurrently, through our webmaster's Google Analytics account. This data, what web professionals like to call statistics, is information about how visitors use our website.
We learn things like but not limited to:
- How many visitors came, and when those visits occured
- Where the visitors came from (IP address, country, city)
- How those visitors arrived here (referral or search)
- Which pages were visited
- How long visitors stayed on each page
The IACC webmaster may use this information to better understand what portions of the site are actually useful, and what parts are less useful. He/she may also use this information to learn about the type of equipment you use to access the site, what display resolution your Internet Device (browser, handheld computer, cellphone) runs at, which web browsers make up the majority of our visits, and so on.
As a function of the Google Analytics stats monitoring, a set of cookies will be stored on your computer. Ostensibly, those cookies are used to assist Google in tracking data about visitor movements around our site, and return it to our webmaster in an anonymous form. This information is not used to identify you on a personal level.
We do not gather e-mail addresses anywhere on this website: There are no web forms, login areas, opt-in mailing lists, or member forums on this website.
Use of Your Personal Information on the Website
Member contact information will not be published on this website unless you serve on either the Board of Directors or the Executive. Further, it is IACC policy to only publish personal information like your e-mail address or phone number on our website if you have given us permission to do so.
